Strong Dollar Drives DA42 Atlantic Crossings

So, if you want to upgrade to a Diamond DA42 aircraft and get a great deal…Who do you call?

LifeStyle Aviation of course!

That’s what one SR20 owner did when he was ready for his next level aircraft.

“With the strength of the dollar we are finding excellent opportunities for our clients by leveraging our global network and expertise in buying modern aircraft,” stated John Armstrong, Founder and CEO of LifeStyle Aviation “This most recent example is a DA42 NG acquired in Europe for a client and brought to the US to serve in a LifeStyle Aviation Network Partner Flight Center on leaseback.”

Diamond DA42 Atlantic Crossing

The 4500+ nautical mile trip was made in a stock DA42 NG without ferry tanks…IN JANUARY!

This illustrates the value of the DA42 aircraft as the ultra-capable, all weather efficient transport that it is. The DA42 includes Flight Into Known Icing (FIKI) TKS panels, retractable gear and long range tanks as standard. The North Atlantic route is typically from Scotland to Iceland to Greenland to Canada. In this particular ferry the route was affected by winds and airport closures along the usual route so they went a bit farther north. Temperatures were in the range of -25c!  The longest leg was 814 nautical miles and was done in about 5 hours. The 76 Gallon “Long Range” tanks on the DA42 can do that easily due to the ultra-efficient Jet-A diesel engines.

The LifeStyle Aviation Network continues to grow and with the addition of this latest aircraft and one more that’s being delivered this month, LifeStyle now has 7 Locations on the east coast that feature DA42’s for training.

“The US market is finally realizing the amazing value of Jet-A diesel and demand is increasing” continued Armstrong “LifeStyle Aviation and our Network of Flight Centers are positioned to help everyone gain access to modern aircraft for training, rental, acquisition and sharing.”

LifeStyle Aviation is clearly a leader in modern aircraft and especially the Jet-A diesels with their recent posts regarding sending another DA42 to New Zealand and the delivery of two Diamond DA62 aircraft at Christmas.

LifeStyle is a Diamond Distributor offering new Diamonds among other modern aircraft and they specialize in providing their client’s a global acquisition service for the Diamond line of aircraft as well as offering a steady flow of “ready to deliver” DA42’s ranging from the Continental 2.0 powered units to the latest DA42-VI 190 KT speedster. In addition, LifeStyle offers Certified Preowned aircraft that are “fully remanufactured” used aircraft that are custom configured to each client’s specifications.

“We are having a lot of fun with these aircraft.” Armstrong says “Pilots fly them and immediately they love them. Because they are easier and safer to fly than singles literally every buyer should consider them before they purchase any other aircraft.”
